Google PageRank Greed.
Do you share the wealth?

Greed is a natural is an inordinate desire to acquire, possess, or hoard more than one needs or deserves, especially with respect to material wealth and in this case PageRank wealth. In 2010, Greed has become commonplace in America. Everyone wants more, nobody wants to share, and nobody is happy with what they have got.

As I was revising my Google PageRank Penalty article late last night, I realized that PageRank greed has become commonplace in the website industry. Believe it or not, I have lost three friendships, acquaintances, or potential friendships over PageRank. Sad but true, many webmasters do not what to link to other websites merely because the other website will receive benefit from that link. Let's take Wayne Sutton as my example again. Wayne Sutton has several websites that he runs, all which have a PageRank of about 4 or 5. A PR 4 or PR 5 can take years to achieve, so I suppose natural instinct says, "I worked hard to get to this point, screw helping anyone else achieve this success."

Dan over at InfoCarnivore allowed me to guest post about artificial linking and Google ranking. Sharing his PageRank with me, is a gesture appreciated and respected. His blog has useful information and is a good read from time to time. Knowing links have to mature and knowing that one quality link is worth more than a photograph.

Wayne Sutton is as ignorant as all of the other webmasters who want to hoard their PageRank for themselves. Google has already stated that linking is a natural part of the Internet and an integrated web. In fact, I have seen websites that have only had one incoming dofollow link reach a Google PageRank of 3 within only a month's time by the next PageRank update. They reached a PR 3 so quickly because they linked out to other relevant information. People don't realize that Google has not publicly stated that linking out to quality websites will help your PageRank but I have read an article or two in which it was implied. The website that only had one incoming link became a testament to this theory. If you do not believe my knowledge of this, you should recreate my experiment for yourself.

Not long ago, I asked Wayne Sutton to "throw me a bone." In Wayne's case, I asked him for a dofollow link anywhere within his multiple websites. It did not matter to me, where it was, how big it was, or what it was, as long as he hooked me up with a relevant link to one of my or my clients' websites. I told Wayne Sutton that I would be more than happy to link back to him down the road, a hit you back later deal. Throw me a bone now, and I will bring you a big ass steak back sometime down the road. I will repay you ten fold. Wayne Sutton decided to be a bitch and succumbed to Google PageRank Greed.

I don't fault him for it, but my clients and I are going to do just fine without the link. Surely someone would be willing to link to me right? I decided that I would ask my really good friend Alex Barbara who has one website that is a PageRank 5. His response, "But I'm not about to give you a backlink that says, 'Google Marketing Company' from my PageRank 5 page, much less links from all of my higher-PR pages (which you have asked for in the past)." WOW, that was from someone who was supposedly my friend for more than 2 years. We are not friends anymore needless to say. Alex succumbed to Google PageRank Greed. OH and his stupid Twitter business went belly-up. Karma bitch, isn't that your dog's name anyways?

You see there are a lot of psychological conditions developing in the digital world. This now confirms two new conditions that have developed because of Google. Joshua Unseth's confirmed case of Google Penalty Paranoia, and these three cases of Google PageRank Greed. I am not suffering from either condition, and my experience has allowed me to prevent me from developing either condition. If only everyone could be more like Keith Bloemendaal and just share the "link love". Keith Bloemendaal as only been a friend of mine for about 4 months but has proven that not everyone in 2010 is a greedy son of a bitch. Keep spreading the love Keith and together you, me, and Joshua Unseth will conquer the online domain together. I have an update to my story and Joshua Unseth has received many hours of counseling and no longer suffers from Google Penalty Paranoia. Joshua Unseth has not developed Google PageRank Greed, nor do I foresee him developing the condition.

Because I am not a greedy person I have decided that I needed to pass some PageRank onto Chase McGee. Chase contributes to a blog called The Voice Xchange. The Voice Xchange has been running for more than a year and is still a PR 0. I think I can change that for them. I actually really like this blog because it is strictly political. The Voice Xchange is one of the few blogs where I feel that contributing comments would be actually benefical to a website.
