The more I stare at this screen and type, the more difficult it becomes to come up with unique topics and creative content. There are days when I stare at my computer screen for hours only to come up with a headache. It is like fishing. Many times the only thing you catch is a case of frustration.
Today's topic is opportunities and being able to capitalize on them. Opportunity is knocking, but not always loudly. I won't name names, but one client hired me to do his Google Internet marketing. I have been his marketing expert for more than two years. I have constantly emphasized to him how important it is to give me the playdough so that I can mold it. That is the metaphor I tell my clients. "You give me the playdough, and I will mold it." The playdough is a website's content.
As the head of a marketing business that represents such a wide variety of industries, I can not possibly know the ins and outs of each of my client's business. No one knows their business better than they do--no one knows Internet search engine optimization better than I do. Together, we are the ideal team. My one client's website is an extra money gig for him; he has a full-time job that must pay extremely well, because he has not spent much effort creating good website content. I try constantly to motivate him, but some people just do not like to write--and writing is not easy. I know how hard writing can be.
Writer's block is a condition, associated with writing as a profession, in which an author loses the ability to produce new work or finish existing pieces. Writer's block varies widely in intensity. It can be superficial, a temporary difficulty in production. Or it can be sustained. Some "blocked" writers have been unable to produce work for years; others have even abandoned their writing careers. My client eventually decided to hire a professional content writer to help produce the content for his website. Most clients don't realize is that getting TOP 10 Google results takes PATIENCE! I could spend a week working on a website without sleeping, and it could still take Google six months or a year for that website to reach the top of their Internet result pages.
Every day we are presented with opportunities. Capitalizing them is one thing American's often miss--we may not even know that we missed them. But even when opportunity doesn't present itself, I try to create them and make things happen. As the rapper Young Jeezy puts it, I try to be a "Go Getta." It is just part of my ENTP Visionary personality. I'm not the type of person who just sits around and watches life pass me by. Life is too short.
I write content constantly and usually pre-release the content to my friends on Facebook, even though I don't think most of them will read it. It doesn't really matter; they are the ones missing out on my higher level thinking and thinking outside the box. Their loss. There are a couple of my Facebook friends (I don't use the word follower because I see them as an equal and not a lesser.) who do read my work. These people will capitalize on my advice, experience, and higher thinking.
The Internet is called, "the information superhighway." As we all know, in milliseconds you can locate answers to questions that used to take hours of research in a library.
Oh do we hate reading for long periods of time, or paying attention to each and every written word. It is never a problem focusing for short periods of time, I think the average American these days has an attention span of only about 500 words. This article is about 1,000, so I expect most people will lose interest right about now. I haven't figured out if it is just Americans who are ADD or if the rest of the world is suffering too. We are so ADD that we do everything in small doses, and call it multitasking. I'd bet $1,000 not one of you could sit down and read this entire website from start to finish without financial motivation. This website is about 35 pages of information, which is less than many magazines. If you have a small- to medium-sized business and have not fully read, comprehended, and understood the information contained in this site about Google marketing and using the Internet to gain market share, ask yourself why you are not learning from my successes and mistakes.
Learning from other people misfortunes, mishaps and errors, as well as successes, is far more intelligent than reinventing the wheel. I learned everything I know in the home improvement sector and technology field, from good old fashioned reading and trial and error. I have spent countless hours researching and studying as it pertains to marketing, SEO, and advertising. I would bet the $1,000,000 (that I don't have, yet) that Web Your Name® will surpass the best marketing business in the U.S. over the next two to five years. Do I really think that my one man engineering super crew, can outrank some of the best names in the industry today? ABSOLUTELY. Results take time and, unfortunately, there is nothing I can do to get to the future faster.
Twitter Tweets are limited to 140 character count. Do you know what webpage title's are limited to in Google search results before the rest of it is truncated? Most of us learn something new every day. The answer is seventy.
If you started out with 20 visitors your first month and increased your traffic 25% a month for the first year, how many visitors would you have in the last month at the year's end? The answer: You would have reached 233 visitors. A 25% increase in traffic each month for 12 months is a lot to hope for. Now you know why results take time.

Opportunity is always KNOCKING.
If you LISTEN, you HEAR it.
Martin Luther King Jr. had a vision as all good hopefuls do. The Vision that I have, I am constantly working on to make a reality. One of the best ranking websites for traffic on Google and other search engines is Wikipedia. You can search for various things on Google 100 times a day, and it seems like Wikipedia shows up at the top 5 for the answer to 95 of them. Wikipedia was a brilliant and unique website concept and is consistently a reliable source of information. The Vision that the founders of Wikipedia had was well thought out and has made Wikipedia an invaluable source for obtaining answers to many of the daily questions we have. The Vision (or goal) that I have is to make the Web Your Name® marketing brand, and the Consider Them Gone® pest control brand, nationally recognized brands. I can do that through hard work and capitalizing on the opportunities of today and learning from the missed opportunities of yesterday.
